Driveco, leader in electric vehicle charging in France, is now associating its image and competencies with the Olympique Lyonnais men’s team, for the next three seasons (until 30/06/2025). A collaboration to contribute to the deployment of charging infrastructures in order to make low-carbon mobility accessible to as many people as possible.

A few months after transitioning the vehicle fleets of its professional teams to fully electric and having installed a photovoltaic park at the OL Vallée site, Olympique Lyonnais is pursuing its responsible development strategy in order to increase its capacity for autonomy in terms of energy resources.
This convergence towards accounting for environmental impact and the energy transition has facilitated the relationship between the club and DRIVECO, whose activity is to design, finance, install and operate charging solutions for electric vehicles.

DRIVECO, a benchmark French player in the electric vehicle charging stations market

Since its creation in 2010, DRIVECO has always been a step ahead in the electric charging market due to its turnkey and customized offer. It accompanies its clients in all stages of a project: from a customized study of the project to the installation of charging stations, and also the management and maintenance
of the latter. DRIVECO is known as a reliable and responsive player to its clients, with an availability rate of its stations at 98.5%.

In collaboration with the agency Sportfive, the two brands have therefore entered into an Official Supplier agreement which begins this season and will notably include hospitality and ticketing allocations as well as a visibility system for the men’s team games at Groupama Stadium, digital activations, occasional events in lounges in order to propose BtoB offers and special activities in the stadium.

Within the framework of this agreement, the two brands are currently working to develop a co-branded card for electric vehicles charging, associated with a benefits program for the users.

As a reminder, the club’s owner OL Groupe holding, has recently announced, through the statement by Jean-Michel Aulas, the launching of its -20 / + 20 plan, an ambitious program with the objective of reducing by 20% the group’s energy consumption and at the same time the ambition to increase its autonomy capacity by producing its own clean energy resources.

“The arrival of DRIVECO alongside us is perfectly in line with OL’s strategy, deployed in recent years, to move towards a plan combining energy sobriety and self-consumption. The synergies activated with DRIVECO, a benchmark player in decarbonized mobility, will allow us to fully apply this policy at all levels of the club and give a new dimension to our optimization potential in terms of energy management and development of soft mobility around the stadium, in particular by making available electric charging stations for OL fans.” Cyrille Groll, Business Development Director at Olympique Lyonnais

“We are happy and proud to announce this partnership with Olympique Lyonnais, a renowned French football club with strong values with which we fully identify. If for many, sport is considered a simple entertainment, for us it is a symbol of surpassing oneself and the quest for excellence!” says Ion Leahu-Aluas, CEO at DRIVECO. “We are convinced that this partnership will accelerate not only the Olympique Lyonnais’ -20/+20 plan, but also support the club in its strategy of raising awareness of environmental issues among fans.”
